Ponderosa Pine

Ponderosa pine is possibly the most beloved of the Western pines. It has a soft texture and light color that distinguishes it from the Southern pines; it is among the most beautiful of all the pines. It has a pleasant pine scent and is slightly resinous.

Ponderosa pine is recognized as possibly the most versatile wood found in abundance in North America.  It is valuable in the construction industry, especially for interior woodwork.  It has a straight grain and medium texture.   The wood works well with both hand and machine tools and glues and finishes well.

Ponderosa Pine is moderately priced and readily available.
