Wood Siding Types & Species:

Bevel Siding
Bevel siding, also called clapboard siding, is a popular wood option. It has a thicker edge on one side and a thinner edge on the other, which helps shed water. In addition, it adds rustic warmth to homes and cabins. We offer bevel siding in Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Pine, or Cypress. You can choose between plain or rabbeted edges. However, it is recommended for horizontal use only.

Board and Batten Siding
Board and batten siding has a simple vertical design made with wide boards that are spaced apart. Then, narrower boards, called battens, cover the gaps between them. There are no fixed sizes for the boards or battens, so you can mix and match to create different styles. You can install it vertically or horizontally. Additionally, you can reverse it by placing the boards over the battens to create a deep channel effect. Most often, rough sawn boards with one smooth side and two smooth edges (S1S2E) are used for this design.

Channel Rustic Siding
Channel Rustic Siding, also called channel lap siding, has a rough, rustic texture, making it a popular choice. It is easy to install and creates minimal waste. In addition, this siding offers great weather protection, while the channel adds depth and allows for airflow in different climates. You can use it for both exterior and interior applications. Usually, it’s installed with the rough side facing out. However, the smooth side also looks great. You can install it either horizontally or vertically, based on your preference. Apply a quality sealer, stain, or paint for the best results.

Drop Siding
Drop siding, also called Dutch lap siding, is a popular option for homeowners. It gives homes a unique and eye-catching look. Made from high-quality Southern Yellow Pine, this siding is strong and built to last. Additionally, it can handle harsh weather, making it a smart choice. With its elegant design, drop siding offers a classic, timeless appearance. You can paint or stain it to fit any style. For a beautiful, functional, and low-maintenance exterior, choose drop siding for your home.

Log Siding
Log siding is a great choice for anyone who loves the look of a log cabin but needs a more practical option. Made from high-quality wood, it gives your home the rustic charm you want. Plus, you can choose from different sizes and styles to find the best fit for your home. Additionally, it’s quick and easy to install, whether you’re using it inside or outside. You can pick from D-log, Chink joint, or Confederate V-joint profiles. For an extra touch, hand hewing is available on all profiles for an added cost.

Shiplap Siding
Shiplap siding has been a popular choice for home design, both inside and outside, for centuries. It adds elegance and charm to any space, while also offering durability and protection from the weather. At East Tennessee Building Supply, we provide many shiplap siding options in different sizes and finishes. Let us help you find the perfect match for your design style.

Tongue and Groove Siding
Tongue and groove wood siding is a type of wall or ceiling covering with a special interlocking design. Each piece has a 'tongue' on one side and a 'groove' on the other, so the pieces fit tightly together. This creates a smooth, continuous wooden surface that looks great and adds strength. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for both style and durability in their home.

Cedar Siding
Cedar siding is a popular choice in home building because of its great qualities. It has been a favorite for decades. Red cedar is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to temperature and humidity changes. It is also versatile, easy to work with, and finishes well. We offer cedar siding in several profiles, such as tongue and groove, channel rustic, bevel, and board and batten. In addition, we provide cedar shakes, shingles, trim boards, and more. This product is select tight knot grade and kiln-dried. You can find it in random lengths from 8′ to 16′.

Cypress Siding
Cypress wood siding is a great choice for adding beauty and durability to your home’s exterior. It resists decay and insects, providing long-lasting protection. Plus, it offers flexible design options and is easy to maintain. The siding has a reversible design, with one rough side for texture and a smooth side for a sleek look. Additionally, cypress works well with many finishes, including paints and stains. Transform your home with this timeless and dependable siding option.

Eastern White Pine Siding
Eastern White Pine siding is known for its natural beauty and versatility, giving your home a timeless and classic look. Its straight grain and fine texture also make it easy to stain or paint for a custom finish. Because it is lightweight, handling and installation are simple. Additionally, this siding provides excellent insulation, keeping your home comfortable all year. Whether you want a rustic or modern style, Eastern White Pine siding offers charm, durability, and affordability. We offer it in many profiles, including Tongue and Groove, Plain Bevel, Chink Joint, D-Log, V-joint, Board and Batten, Trim Boards, and more.

Ponderosa Pine Siding
Ponderosa pine is a strong and versatile wood that adds warmth and rustic charm to any space. Its unique grain pattern and natural beauty make it a great choice for both interior and exterior uses. Whether you're using it for flooring, paneling, or furniture, Ponderosa pine brings natural elegance to your home. Additionally, it offers dimensional stability and resists decay, making it a durable, low-maintenance option. For long-lasting beauty, a clear finish with UV blockers helps keep its freshly milled color. Plus, it has a light, resinous scent when being worked.

Chris Duke
My rep, Robin, at the company was very responsive and helped push through some delays by the freight company. Service was fast and the product was exactly as described. I ordered tongue-and-groove siding and sometimes there is damage, but not in this case. The wood pieces were intact and very high quality.
